Database

A database is a structured information collection that is often stored electronically in a computer system. Database management systems typically have control over databases (DBMS). The term "database system" which is frequently abbreviated to "database", refers to the collection of the data, the database management system (DBMS), and the applications that are used with it.

The most popular forms of databases in use today describe their data in row and columns in a collection of tables to facilitate processing and data querying. The information can then be accessed, managed, changed, updated, regulated and organized with ease (OCI, 2022).

Advantages of database:

Data Integrity: Data consistency and accuracy in the database are terms used to describe data integrity. In order to provide accurate and consistent data to all users across all databases is crucial.

Data Protection: In a database, data security is an essential part. Access to the database by unauthorized individuals violates the integrity restrictions and should never be permitted. A DBMS offers a better platform for data privacy, assisting businesses in providing improved data security.

Less Data Inconsistency: When distinct versions of the same data appear in different locations, there is data inconsistency between files. The database guarantees data consistency and eliminates data duplication.

Restore and backup: Backup and recovery are handled by DBMS. To prevent a system failure or crash, it also restores a database to its prior state (Khullar, 2022).
